Dr Bernie Bredhauer BVSc (Hons)

Dr Bernie Bredhauer graduated from the University of Queensland with a BVSc (Hons) in 1991, and spent just over a decade working in Veterinary Clinics in Brisbane and Perth before becoming the owner of Northgate Veterinary Surgery in 2003.

Bernie’s experience over those 24 years in Practice is in dogs, cats and small mammals (rats, guinea pigs and mice), and he has a wide range of professional interests in small animal medicine and surgery, which he constantly updates with regular conferences and professional courses. Bernie is a caring veterinarian whose focus is to provide a professional, modern, and well equipped clinic, while still keeping the personal feel of a local vet practice. He strives to ensure that his clients feel comfortable knowing that their pets are being cared for compassionately, and where they feel they can easily talk with their vet, and be informed and involved in decisions regarding their pets’ treatment.

Bernie is married to Megan, also a vet, and they have 2 teenage daughters and 9 pets. Bernie has an understandably hectic lifestyle, but when able to relax, enjoys indie rock music, playing guitar (poorly), bushwalking and cooking. He is an avid rugby fan and the proud owner and manager of the Qld Red’s Rugby club’s junior mascot Red Heeler, Red Dog
