Dr Jennifer Kelly BVSc (Hons)

Dr Jennifer Kelly joined the practice in March of 2008. She graduated with a BVSc (Hons) from the University of Queensland in 1994 and moved to Berridale in the NSW Snowy Mountains where she worked in a mixed animal practice (pets and livestock). The experience gained there was very broad and included llamas, alpaca, sheep, beef cattle, horses, cats and dogs. This North QLD girl also found working in the snow exciting and challenging.

Jennifer then moved to Canberra and joined a large mixed animal practice where she was mostly responsible for small animal medicine and surgery. She spent 4 ½ years at this busy practice gaining experience with many small animal pets including some of the more unusual pets, such as rabbits, ferrets and other pocket pets. In 1999 Jennifer escaped Canberra and the cold, and moved to Brisbane with her husband Sean. She continued to work full time in a busy Vet Practice while completing a distance education course in medicine and surgery of dogs and cats.

Over the next 4 ½ years, Jennifer also completed several continuing education courses including emergency medicine and surgery, animal behavioural medicine, and feline medicine and surgery. The next few years saw Jennifer and Sean welcoming the arrival of their two boys which kept then both very busy, although Jennifer managed to still work part-time in a veterinary clinic close to home. Jennifer is a very dedicated veterinarian with great medical knowledge and is a very skilled surgeon. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys camping, bush walking, travelling, music and occasionally returning to the snow for some skiing.
